When I lived in central Texas, I used to occasionally see sunsets that looked like the sun in the Japanese flag. That is, rays radiated from the sun in alternating light and dark bands which seemed to be quite regularly spaced. As I recall, this display appeared in a cloudless sky. Has anyone else ever seen this? Can anyone explain it? Does anyone know the origin of the Japanese flag? David Fay ihuxu!dafa
