We are interested in obtaining information regarding experiences in netland on the Typesetter-Independent version of Troff. In particular: 1. is anyone using it with Beserkeley 4.1bsd and Varian/Versatec printers and the Beserkeley fonts (i.e. vtroff)? What did you have to do to get it to work, just install the CAT version in place of the old troff? 2. how typesetter independent is it? What experiences have you had in specifying a new phototypesetter post-processor? 3. does anyone have a post-processor for a Compugraphic 8600? In general, how do folks place graphic input into documents? For example, suppose you're writing documentation for a program and want to include a graph generated from some plot package. How do you get it into the document. Another example, suppose you are Barry Roitblat at Beserkeley and are documenting "The Gremlin Picture Editor". How do you get the graphic output of gremlin which documents gremlin into the text without resorting (as they were) to hand cutting and pasting? [NB: this means that the "real" documentation does not exist for display even on the graphics terminal on which gremlin is used!]
