I have a feeling this has already gone around, but I wasn't paying attention. I'm using an A500 which exhibits some rather flakey behaviour. My configuration is as follows: A500 with Microbotics 512K internal expansion (w/clock), Starboard 2 with 2M RAM and a 2nd floppy drive. When running with just the 512K internal expansion, the machine crashes often and inexplicably. I figure either the board itself is bad, or the power supply can't handle the load. (Seems to me I recall hearing about problems with the power supply.) When running with just the Starboard box the system seems quite a bit more stable, though still takes a dive from time to time... especially soon after power-up. When running bare-bones (except for 2nd floppy), there seem to be no problems, but I need the memory. Any insights or ideas? Please forgive me if this has already been thoroughly hashed over. Many thanks for *any* assistance. Peter M. Yadlowsky Academic Computing Center University of Virginia pmy@vivaldi.acc.Virginia.EDU

Pete, It sounds like your power supply cannot handle the load. I would recomend getting a heavy duty power supply. I know Phoniex sells a nicely built A500 power supply... This may just do the trick. - Doug - Doug_B_Erdely@Portal.Cup.Com P.s. I have NO connection with Phoniex! :>
