I've been using the Pacific Peripherals "Overdrive" with the Seagate ST157N drive, for several days now and it looks like the "right thing" to me. :-) The drive is mounted on the card, BTW. The Overdrive claims to be a DMA device, and I believe it. It seems plenty fast to me, but then I'm used to doing directory listings on a floppy. I'm not a developer so I'm not privy to the 1.3 FFS, so I guess I don't really know the meaning of the word "fast" yet, do I? :-) > > Yes, I'm about to buy myself a hard disk system too :-) You'll be glad you did!! If you decide to mail order it, be sure to give Light Speed, a call. (Check Amiga World for phone #.) Their prices are a *little* higher, than the norm, *but* the sales staff knew what they were talking about. The service was good. And they were honest with me. I bought their September special, which was the above mentioned "hard card". They assembled it for me and they even put a little sticker on the drive to tell me where to plug the wires that connect to the front panel Drive led on the 2000. Not necessary, but nice. I have no affiliation with them. Just pleased to talk to people who seem to know what they're doing. > > [just waiting for the shuttle to launch ...
