The plural of virus is viri, only one "i" at the end. It's unfortunate that the attorneys in the called crime in Fort Worth at "virus". The guy did not infect any other computers; he planted a time delayed sabotage program, not a virus. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | TYMNET:JMS@F29 CA:"POPJ P," UUCP:{ames|pyramid}oliveb!tymix!antares!jms | | INTERNET:JMS%F29.Tymnet@Office-1.ARPA PHONE:Joe Smith @ (408)922-6220 | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

If the original poster was using virii as a humorous misspelling of viruses to be funny, then I'm sorry I missed the smiley. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | TYMNET:JMS@F29 CA:"POPJ P," UUCP:{ames|pyramid}oliveb!tymix!antares!jms | | INTERNET:JMS%F29.Tymnet@Office-1.ARPA PHONE:Joe Smith @ (408)922-6220 | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

Re plural of virus and English and Latin dictionaries... There was a ***long*** discussion of this on a conference disk where I work (IBM). The conference concerns the English language, as well as others. The final word on the subject was that 'virus' does *not* have a Latin plural. The only acceptable plural of 'virus' is 'viruses'.
