And while were on the topic of new stuff in 1.3: what's with this "newcon:" device? Looks a whole lot like "ConMan". Is it? Will I be able to just call it "con:" like I do with ConMan now? I don't like the idea of having two separate console devices to keep track of. I'd rather just do what I'm doing now with ConMan: I like having the editing capability in any program that opens a console window (like "Say"). I guess I understand why they made it a separate device, but I certainly don't want it that way for myself. William LeFebvre Department of Computer Science Rice University <phil@Rice.edu>

William, I use Conman with my 1.3 shell. I invoke it by running Conman in my startup-sequence then in Dmouse using this as the -C command: "Newshell Con:0/10/ect./name" This gives me the Fkey commands of Conman, and the line editing and history and alias of Newcon. (I do mount Newcon: before I do conman). This tip was courtesy of Michael Rudas of the Pontiac Amiga User Group. I wish to thank Carolyn Scheppner for permitting me to obtain a copy of 1.3 Omega 6 at Ami-Expo.
