I don't think this is so positive for CBM, but it sure is for "my" local CBM shop, here goes: I bought my first A-500 about one year ago, at first every thing was OK, then after a couple of days the internal drive did not recognice a disk when it saw one. I went back to the shop, after a few minutes i left with my second A-500, no hazzel!!! Then after approx. 1 month the internal drive (YES again) started to trash my disks, couldn't read track 70-. The same thing happened again, i now left with my third Amiga, they told me that early 500's had some sort of drive problem. Home again, i tried using Marauder II, with indexsync, nope.. no deal, the drive did not support indexsync (reason unknown). Same thing again, the guys in the shop now know me pretty well, but the boss was sort of irritated, and demanded that i should show the receipt ( that i got when buying the first A), but i managed to take that out of him... YES i now left with my fourth amiga. Home again, nope, it did not boot up AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! Back to the shop, hi guys!, boss still here? Same thing again, but this time we made sure the damn thing was ok, i left with my fifth Amiga. NOPE... no more problems (OK, OK, i burned one Fat Agnus and a 8520, but i fixed that, with a little help from the service guys (still under the warranty time)) I still love my (fifth, or is it maybe the sixth) amiga! Oh, yes the shop is called WESTIUM... if you can, buy your Amigas there they know what they are selling (i think).
