[comp.sys.amiga] image processing

ECKSTROM@KL.SRI.COM (D.J. Eckstrom) (10/15/88)

I will be involved in a project that incorporates a ccd camera in an optical
interferometer. We will be observing fringe shifts across a pulsed e-beam
discharge in air.
I like the Amiga (I don't have my own yet, but will soon), and want to be
able to convince the boss that the amiga is the way to go. I need to find
image processing software so that we can have ~256 level greyscale
at max. amiga resolution, the ability to read pixel intensities & positions
with a cursor, or better yet to plot pixel intensity profiles across a given
line. Other features would be a nice plus.
I haven't seen the Fish disk #? program that lets you look at cat scan images,
it might be a good place to start but source code is not included. I'd like
to contact the author. I know there are labs that do various image
processing things - they are mentioned in AUG 88 AMIGA WORLD and WINTER 89
AMIGA USER'S GUIDE.
If anyone knows anything about the availability of commercial or PD
software for this, please let me know.
