What monitors work well on the amiga? I realize this question has been asked many times, but I still find the array of choices to be quite confusing. I dont want to spend alot of money on a monitor that sizzles, that has a large dot pitch, or that will be useless with the new chips. Yet, I don't want to spend money on a multi-sync unless I am certain that new chips are forthcoming that make it necessary and I am certain that the multi-sync circuitry works well with the Amiga (eg. some multi-syncs apparently dont sync well). The new chips may eventually be available, but that does not mean that a multisync will be necessary to use them. So I have decided to buy an inexpensive monitor to use while waiting for the new chips. However, choosing a non-multi-sync monitor other than the 1080/1084 is difficult because most monitors are advertised according to their suitability for the various IBM graphic standards and not according to what signals they can actually handle. For instance, many VGA monitors apparently have an input for RGB analog signals, but to my recollection VGA is an RGB digital standard. So my question is what cheap monitors work? Which have you actually tried and which do you like? I am staring at ads for a Thomson 4120. It has an enormous dot pitch (.5mm I think) but these 4120s are dirt cheap (typically < $200). Should I or shouldn't I..... stacy marsella marsella@aramis.rutgers.edu

a slight correction, I should have said CGA (VGA monitors have the higher 31.5 Khz scan frequency). (argh one has to learn the IBM lingo even if one owns and works on other companies products) stacy
