I have thirty-two 256K chips that I'd like to use in my Amiga 2000. I can't seem to find ANY resonably priced RAM cards out there that come unpopulated with room for 2 megs that can be expanded 1 meg at a time. Can anyone help me? If not, I'd consider selling the RAM chips to the highest bidder ;^). - krb -

InterComputing charged me $39 for my StarboardII upper deck, unpopulated. BTW, I have lots of 256K ram chips if anyone is interested ... Tom Bruhns tomb%hplsla@hplabs.hp.com

I didn't check InterComputing's price on the upper deck -- I was making a guesstimate based on the price of the other Starboard accessories. I am surprised to learn it is so inexpensive. Actually, I just received my Starboard today, and was pleased to find out it had 512K of memory already installed for the $239 price I paid for it. I wasn't planning to upgrade my memory along with getting a hard drive, but then again I'm not complaining. WARNING to potential Starboard II owners -- I bought the Starboard expecting to use the SCSI module only and not to put any memory in at first. YOU CANNOT DO THIS. The Starboard II MUST have at least 512K in order to work, regardless of what other accessories are connected. I am pretty fortunate that my Starboard came with 512K of memory already installed. The Starboard does pass the bus, though, and passes the bus even if you have the upper deck and an accessory card (like the Multifunction or SCSI daugherboards) installed. The Upper Deck attaches to the Starboard in the space above the expansion connector, and the accessory boards install in the space below the expansion connector. How much do you want for your 256K RAM chips? I have 16 empty sockets on my Starboard... --M Michael Portuesi / Information Technology Center / Carnegie Mellon University ARPA: mp1u+@andrew.cmu.edu BITNET: mp1u+%andrew.cmu.edu@cmccvb UUCP: ...harvard!andrew.cmu.edu!mp1u+
