Just a precaution...

   We had better put a jumper on that programming voltage for those
Kickstart EEPROMS for the 3000, otherwise some nasty viruses are
are bound to show up.

So then you have to open up the case to change a jumper. Not that big an
improvement over opening up the case to swap a chip is it?

EEPROMs cost a LOT more than ROMs do, let's stick with the cheap way.
