Do I need SETPATCH with my Amy 1000? Could Commodore supply a patch program to patch the disk so I need to run this every time? I followed the instructions in the recently posted article on how to run FFS from floppies. The devices mounted ok, autodiskchange started ok, and things seemed to be working, except I can't format a disk. When I enter "format drive ff1: name empty noicons ffs" it tries, the disk clicks, and it says format failed "bad sector number". Any ideas on how to fix this? All that i've heard of setpatch is that it is essential (so far anyway). I use the standard startup-sequence w/setpatch and have had no troubles with formatting ffs floppies. You might want to check to make sure you used the correct format specs. sys:system/format drive ff1:: name "ffs floppy" noicons ffs I included the whole thing just to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. My ffs disks work without a glitch and i'm durn happy! *********************************************************************** * Frank Shea * * computer science house @RIT * * "destination procrastination" * ***********************************************************************
