#N:harpo:800014:000:1871 harpo!ber Sep 8 14:29:00 1982 Late last year I had a local printer run off 6x9 GBC bound versions of the 4.1bsd users manual (with thumb indexes) and section 2c (with the curses document). These are photo reduced by ~73%, not re-typeset. The print is small, but quite legible. I intially distributed 500 sets to interested people at BTL. Since then popular demand has generated another 1000 or so sets. Friends and associates from outside BTL have been asking me to get them some of these manuals. Typically people want around 20 sets. Unfortunately, I can't just give them away and there is no mechanism for me to collect money for them. If one were to buy just 20 sets they would cost on the order of $200 a set. However, mass buying brings that cost down to about $25. I am currently negotiating with the supplier (Howard Press in NJ) to produce a mass quantity and sell them off at the reduced price to anyone as per the copyright notice and statement of permission printed in the manual*. If you would be interested in purchasing these manuals, please send me mail stating how many you would like. This is so I can approximate the magnitude of the order. brian redman Room 2E-314A Bell Labs Whippany Rd.
