I went shoppping on Saturday, looking for a word-processor for my A500. Singapore doesnt have many Amiga dealers, and they're usually not very competent. I was inquiring over the phone once as to what language they had, looking for Prolog and Logo. The guy at the other end told me very seriously the only language they had was English... anyway, I asked several shops about word-processors, and they regularly came up with ProWrite, TextCraft and WordPerfect. WordPerfect they would sell the original version for about S$300 (US$150) but they didnt have it in store. But they could make me a copy, manual and all for S$100 (US$50) and it'd be ready within an hour or so. Well, could you give me a demo then ? Sorry, we have a very strong copyright policy in Singapore, no demo. You gotta buy it... which I did. it turned out to be WordPerfect v4.1, with help displaying beta test 4.1, but my wife needed it for Monday so I had no choice. COPY RIGHT did you say, the RIGHT to COPY ?
