I wish to disclaim something here. (oh really? Disclaim???)
I was not using a scope to read my mouse, I was using a
voltmeter. those of you who know the peculiarites of
a voltmeter will note that I have no real way of telling
what the leading and trailing edges of the "normal"
and "quadrature" signals were. was just reporting
my limited knowledge of the system.
So, my disclaimer is: I am a software programmer
who knows enough to be dangerous in the hardware
area. Use my knowledge at your own risk. And thanks
to the people who have filled out my knowledge.
(but rebuilding wheels is so much fun and informative! :-) )
