[comp.sys.amiga] Looking for a terminal package that supports ANSI graphics

rchampe@hubcap.UUCP (Richard Champeaux) (11/01/88)

I'm looking for a terminal program that supports ANSI graphics.
Anyone know of one (perferably PD)? I have Diga! and it supports ANSI
but not the graphics. (just bold, colored text, etc)

Thanks,
Rich Champeaux

A-Talk III supports BOTH Amiga ANSI and IBM PC ANSI graphics in up to 8 colors.
Online 2.x also claims such support.

Online 2.2 does DEFINATLY support all of the grafix you will find
online. Not to mention that it is a sparklingly clean program now with all
known bugs destroyed. This is a sharp packadge. You may say that I am predjudiced as I have been using online for 3 years or so in one flavor or another.

Access! is also supposed to be good and is PD.

Does it include the VT100 line-drawing set? None of the terminal programs
I currently have will properly respond to ESC ( 0 and/or ESC ) 0. I have
a VT100TORTURE.TEST file that draws lines, boxes, tees, and corners on a
real VT100. Amiga programs need custom fonts to draw these characters.

Yes, it does.

I tested it with VTTEST. If your "torture" test is available, I'd love to
try it out. Please e-mail.

We provide National/UK/graphics/ALT-ROM1 custom fonts for a variety of
countries.

There are 31 graphic characters in the VT100 line-drawing set. They include
such things as a diamond, a blotch, "CR", "LF", "HT", etc, and several
horizontal bars at various heights. They are all displayed in the last 4
lines of my VT100TORTURE.TEST, and that is where most emulators fail. The
file is uuencoded because it has so many escape sequences. /Joe
