Turns out I wanted "UnLock". So Commodore, what's "Un" >short for? "Undo"? "Unallocate"? "Unotbeneedingthisanymore"? Well, I'm not commodore, but I have it from Reliable sources that the Un in UnLock is short for under. What happens is this: UnLock goes "Under" the Lock you wish to remove, and installs a little virus-like explosive software bomb. (Sorry I can't go into much more detail, but I signed a non-disclosure agreement on the details of the implementation.) UnLock then blows the Lock all to hell! [In "Re: Unlock? AarRgh!" Jim Mackraz (amiga!jimm) said:] : : Obviously, you haven't use a Layer_Info, or opened a WorkBench. : : jimm : Nope, not me! Never have. I usually insert the Workbench(TM) disk, open the Workbench screen, and run the Workbench application. (The functions OpenWorkBench() and CloseWorkBench() are rarely called for.) Investigating, I find a Workbench task and a public port named Workbench. The latter is probably the same as the WorkBenchPort mentioned in workbench/workbench.h, which also has a description of workbench objects. --Bill Kinnersley iphwk@terra.oscs.montana.edu IPHWK@MTSUNIX1.BITNET
