Here in the UK, Commodore have started their much publicised TV campaign for the Amiga 500. The advert starts with a teenage girl on the Amiga 500 in a cosy looking sitting room. The camera then zooms into the Monitor screen and we are shown some excellent 3D graphics of moving objects, including some teddy bears of all things. This then evolves into an amazing demo of a Flight Simulator, and we are given a quick demostration of the music. Finally a price - the Amiga for a meager 399 pounds. Apart from the music, which is pretty naff, the advert is excellent giving the viewers, in 15-20 seconds, the impression that they can have a very powerful computer in their own living room without having to pay that much for it. It even had me saying to myself "Can my Amiga really do that !!" Nice one Commodore. -----------+--------------------------------------+-------------------------- // | Kevan Gelling ekg@cs.warwick.ac.uk | University of Warwick \\ // |--------------------------------------+ Coventry \X/ | #include <witty comment.h> | England -----------+--------------------------------------+--------------------------
