Oh Geez... I turned my Amiga on yesterday, and barely sensed an electrical discharge (the hairs on the back of my neck told me), which was followed by a very faint "snap" as electricity arced somewhere. Now it's completely dead; when I power it up, the power light comes on and remains steady, but the monitor remains dark, the fan spins up, and that's about it. The only other info is that for a few weeks leading up to the final death, the insert Kickstart message (it's a 1000, which I'm sure you just figured out :-) ) took an in- creasingly longer time to appear (although never longer than a few seconds). The three-fingered reset does nothing, in fact, anything does nothing. Sob. Help me, Obi Wan, you're my only hope! If any illustrious Amiga devotee can give me an idea as to where to start checking/poking/replacing, I'd be very indebted... Oh no, I'm starting to get the shakes... I need my Amiga bad man, I can stop any time but just today, I need it bad... Thanks to anyone and everyone in advance, Tim Murphy NSSC (201) 281-6287 P.S. I'm high on stress.
