I purchased a copy of Deluxe Print II and thought I would warn anyone who was interested in this package to maybe think twice about it. The big problem I have with it is that it did not incorporate the new 1.3 print drivers and so it is as slow as a snail when it comes to printing out. One option you may have is that it does allow you to export the file (save it ) in an iff format so you could use a different program that will run using the 1.3 drivers. I have tried to use the 1.3 drivers with this program and found that it just hung up when told to print. Improvements allow you to import other iff brushes and use them. One other glitch which has not been totally improved it the use of other fonts. The program will allow other fonts to be use but the program seems to have a problem with how many fonts you have in your Fonts: directory. If you have too many then the program just hangs up on you. Over all I feel that it is a good package for a quick and dirty creation of a sign or banner but if you own a package like Deluxe Photolab you could probably skip this one. Lance Holmes

But DPaint II has been out for a few years now and no wonder they don't have 1.3 printer drivers installed. Now just wait for DPaint III! Coming soon!

I have used Deluxe Paint II with Workbench 1.3 and the 1.3 printer driver with no problems. Have you tried booting with a 1.3 Workbench and then using Deluxe Paint II? John G. Ata

Is that clear to you. Do you understand the difference between deluxe print and deluxe paint.....

Deluxe Print II uses customized V1.2 printer drivers and a customized V1.2 printer device that is NOT compatible with anything else (other than itself). Electronic Arts is re-writing the printing section to use the V1.3 printer device and printer drivers. I do not have any information on when this will be done. David Berezowski
