You mentioned that you wanted to break into desktop publishing on the Amiga and specifically requested information on PageSetter. PageSetter could be considered an entry-level desktop publishing package. The interface is similar to dpaint, with menus across the top and icons down the right-hand side. There is a simple built-in text editor and a simple built-in graphics editor. PageSetter allows you to load fonts from other directories and actually has one of the better font-loading interfaces (you don't have to mess with the ASSIGN command as in most other software). You can also purchase LaserScript if you require PostScript output. PageSetter is pretty good for the price. It doesn't have advanced features like double-sided pages, landscape- format. Some objections people have are the slowness of printing and uneven quality of output. I haven't tried it with the 1.3 printer drivers-perhaps it works better with those. With 1.2 some printers get unappealing aspect ratios. I haven't tried the other contenders in PageSetter's price range, so I can't say how it stacks up against those.
