[comp.sys.amiga] Goodbye and Thanks!

I am graduating this semester and will be losing my access to
Usenet :-(. To all the people who keep this message area active and
informed I say Good Job!!! I have had an Amiga since '85 and nowhere have
I found the breadth and depth of information that is available here. I
will really miss keeping up with the scene. But before I go here is a
little story some may find amusing.
I went to a local M*c dealer the other day to buy some inexpensive
disks when a friend came in that I hadn't seen in a while. He told me he
was looking around for a computer, mainly for midi work. He was
considering a M*c II but was concerned about the price. I asked him if he
had considered an Amiga and he was but hadn't had a chance to see one. I
began to describe some of its features when one of the salespersonnel
overheard our conversation and told us that the Amiga was too slow to
multi-task effectively. Right (at this moment I am editing this message,
making a backup of my harddrive using Quarterback btw, and am logged in the
the school's system). My nostrils flaring at this blatent bias I asked
sweetly, "slow compared to what? a M*c SE?" He stammered, "No I mean a M*c
II." "Thats right", I told my friend, "you can have a machine for about
2500 dollars more that single tasks faster than an Amiga." The salesperson
at that point found another area of the store more interesting and left.
