Accepting Applicants for Marketing Positions ============================================ December 15, 1988 Commodore US is currently looking for three (3) new Amiga Applications Managers. These managers will cover three distinctly different markets: Video Graphics/CAD/Desktop Publishing Interactive Video/Presentation Graphics If you meet at least 80% of the the listed requirements, we would like to hear from you. The duties would include, but not be limited to: Sales support - working with the regional sales and training personnel to help them with the technical side of major sales. This would also include attending regional seminars. Design and implementation of turnkey vertical market systems. This would include all phases of bringing to our dealers desired configurations of hardware and software that will allow them to effectively penetrate each of the identified vertical markets. Required here are extremely good writing and editing skills, since a very extensive training program will have to be developed in conjunction with our Training Manager. This area will also include doing a nationwide training session with dealers, regions, and districts in order to create a network of authorized vertical market dealers. Training - working with the Training Manager on all phases of training dealers, salesmen and staff on each vertical market. Advertising - Work with marketing to develop effective marketing plans. Public Relations - working with Commodore's PR firm to effectively present Commodore, the Amiga and each vertical market to the buying public and to the media. Shows - Work at all vertical market shows selected for each vertical market and work with regions on smaller regional shows. This will entail every aspect of show management from possibly buying space to setting up & tearing down equipment. Applicant must have the following: ================================== Sales background, especially oriented towards the VARs and OEMs that exist within any given vertical market. Marketing background, especially oriented towards the knowledge of the vehicles by which any given vertical market is reached. Vertical Market experience - Complete technical knowledge of one of the vertical markets with an understanding of how the Amiga PC fits into that market. Willing to travel - a lot of travel will be involved in each of these positions. If you value a heavy home life, this job is not for you. Travel will include training, sales support and trade shows (just to name a few). Knowledge of computers - an in-depth working knowledge of computers will be a must since each applications manager will be responsible for training others, some of whom may very well may know more than the Applications Manager.
