[comp.sys.amiga] old tecmar expansion peripherals for A1000

RICK@QUCDNAST.BITNET (12/13/88)

For the last 2 years, my A1000 has been chugging along nicely with a
hard disk and extra memory from Tecmar. (Remember them?)
Even though they're slow-footed orphans, I haven't had any complaints
because they work pretty reliably. However, I'd sure like to take
advantage of some of the neat new tricks in 1.3, e.g., FFS and bootable
RAD: but I don't have much of an idea how to convert the software I have
to make the hardware work with 1.3
So, has anybody taken the trouble to write new software for Tecmar hardware?
If so, I sure would appreciate a copy of the new software, with instructions.
If not, does anyone know whether it is possible (reasonable) to update it?

(This was posted for a friend of mine; if you have a response for him,
please send it to edwardz@qucdn.bitnet, or to the net, if you think it
of sufficient interest.)

Here in Cleveland Ohio, our Amiga group CA-AUG, has roughly 50 members
with Tecmar setups which we bought when they dropped the product line.

There are a number of users with your question, and also lots of experience
with repair work on the powersupply and hard disk problems. I don't have
an answer for you, but I encourage you to keep track of this via our BBS
at 216 581-2284 24 hours 1200/2400. We have some great techies here,
and if any 1.3 upgrades can be done, we may have someone who is working
on it, or will spot it available from somewhere.
