[comp.sys.amiga] 1.4 WorkBench changes for Hard Disk Users!

joseph@garfield.MUN.EDU (Joseph Dawson) (12/20/88)

  1. You shoule be able to grab a disk icon and place it into
a directory of your hard disk and have the system turn the
disk icon into a directory icon. Then build the whole disk
      in the new directory icon.

  2. Make a new directory/folder should be in the menu. Having
to copy empty is one of the worst things I have ever seen on
      any micro.

  3. Aborts for file/directory/disk copies would be very nice.
I once asked the system to copy empty but clicked on the
wrong folder and had to wait 6 min while it copied a huge
      folder/directory.

  4. Some way to mount VDK: and anything that is in my mount list
by clicking on a pull down menu.

  5. Screen blanker when I place my pointer up in the top right side
of the screen for 10 secconds. (An option in the loadwb command).

  6. The icon that Word Perfect has for making the window full screen
size should be built into the OS as a ne type of window.

  7. One bit two colour workbench screens for people who don't have
      extra memory.

  8. QUIT, if you want to kick workbench out of the system you should
      be able to do so.

  9. For people like me who have lots of memory we should have any
sort of screen set up we want. High-REZ 640X400 16 colours,
4096 Colour 320X200, and all the rest of the fine Amiga Choices.

 10. It may not be a bad idea to have two workbench programs. One
for people with lots of memory and one for people with 512K.

That is my wish list for Workbench.

No it's not, or else I'm awfully jealous...
