[comp.sys.amiga] DMCS and Sonix score players and more.....

BPJ0%LEHIGH.BITNET@ibm1.cc.lehigh.edu (Bin) (12/12/88)

First of all do any of you have a DMCS score player and a Sonix score
player that does not require Arp library V33+ ? I spent a whole lot
of time downloading sonix scores only to find that I need arp! I try
and makedo with Amigados so I'm in trouble huh? Help.......

Also does VLT require ARP? This is a huge file and I don't wanna end
up in the same situation as above.

Any advice will appreciated.

On a related note, does anyone our there know of a program that will
tell me what intruments a certain .smus file needs so that the play
command will play it? I saw one for dmcs on a fish disk, but didn't
see one for sonix. Thank you!

For these to work, you simply need to copy arp.library to libs: -- it
is a measly 14.4k bytes long, which should fit on a floppy based system
easily. VLT also requires screenshare.library, which is only 1.8k.
Having arp.library around can actually save space if enough utilities
use it, since the file requester, etc. can be part of the shared
library and not contribute to the size of the code. Of course, if you
get all of ARP, you get a large savings in space, and more important,
increased functionality.

Speaking of ARP, can anyone offer info concerning the prospects of
Commodore acquiring the rights to distribute it? It seems this would
be a win-win situation.

I won't ask when the 1.3 compatible version is coming out 'cause I
know these things take time.
