[comp.sys.amiga] elite - the game

zaremba@altger.UUCP (zaremba) (12/19/88)

Hi Freaks !

We just bought Elite, the ultimate game for the Amiga, and had to
discover, that either the program }istill has a bug or our comps ...
which seems rather unlikely, cause all the other programs that
use blitter etc. excessively s}ieem to work fine.
The effect is, that Elite shows only a completely dark screen
after a while but still the sound effects work, we checked our
Amigas and both found that there are non-Motorola 68k
cpu's inside.
If anyone out there has discovered the same problems and knows a
solution -> please send an e-mail to

I haven't had any problems, I even got program working
with LUCAS-board on my A-500. (Only little patch on boot
	block was needed).

I don't know anything about this game, but I can suggest a possibility: Some
games grab the keyboard and mouse inputs very early on, ahead of any
dmouse-type program that blanks the screen if there's no input for a certain
time. If you are not booting the game from the original disk, you should make
sure you kill off screen-blankers before starting the game. I ran into this
problem with MarbleMadness.
