Available now, the latest version of Amiga UUCP(V0.41)/UseNet(V0.20)
by William Loftus and Dan "Sneakers" Schein.

Changes over AmigaUUCP BETA 0.40 - UseNet 0.10 include:

Rewrote 'MAIL' command. Removed message header from user editable message.
Now gives a warning on ZERO byte messages & exits.
Rewrote 'Pnews-x' commands. Fixed the broken CopyMessage() routine.
Added Include() routine. File to include [None]
                              Added CheckUser() routine.  [Send|List|Edit|Abort]
Mail command was brain dead on multiple addresses.
Fixed it, and it works great :-)
Added support for nonbatched news articles to the Rnews command.
  Added New_Mail popup window.
Changed mail to use uux to queue files for transfer.
Fix problem in mail when using spaces to separate mail address.
Introduced arguments to mail so that uses can now say:
                              mail burdvax!sneakers@heimat.UUCP ...
Changes the directory for the temp files from uucp:spool to t:
Changed the temp directory for PNews-X from uucp:spool to t:
Files "UseNet.standards" contained a duplicate of the file "how2usenet",
    it has been deleted.
Added "Anews" and modified Pnews-x and Rnews for use with Anews.
Added "config.h" file and rewrote all commands to use this file.
Redirected error messages from the screen into a new errorfile.
Fixed a 'nasty' problem that when new & mail articles were processed
and the proper process program (Rmail - Rnews)was not found, the
articles were deleted. This has been fixed!
AmigaCron has been rewritten to check for ^C and exit cleanly.
Many, many other minor changes & improvments.
  Blitz has been removed.
AVI has been replaced with STEVIE (including source code!).

Any errors are now saved in a errorfile and no longer printed to the
screen. Also included is a command "ERRORLOG" to view the errorfile. This
was requested by many to aid with debuging.

Welcome to Anews, a Unix styled newsreader for the Amiga UUCP/UseNet project.
The programs on this disk are setup to use Anews and store the received news
articles in Amews styled files & directories.

Anews stores each news article as its own file vs the all-in-one-file style
of previous Amiga UUCP/UseNet versions. If you find that the old method of
news file storage is prefered, directions are provided.

I would like to thank Fred Cassirer for Anews, it is a great program and
a major improvment in the Amiga UUCP/UseNet project. Full directions for
Anews are available using the MAN command.

All attempts were made to remove hard coded references (IE: uucp:c/uux)
  from all the code.

The addition of the file "config.h" allows you to DEFINE how your system
is set up. This is used by 99% of the code and was a big help in removing
  the hard coded references.

Additional entries (pages) for the MAN command have been added.

All code has been recompiled with Lattice 5.0 and most directories contain
a (Lattice "LMK" compatible) MakeFile that will create the programs in that
directory. If a directory has no MakeFile, simply compile it in the normal
  Lattice fashion:
                     1> lc -L <progname>

Source code is supplied for every program except the following:

       14compress
       Brun
       More (actually Less)
       TAR
       VI (actully DME)

Stevie is/was a last minute addition. I have included the code as posted
to UseNet, but have not tried to compile it with Lattice 5.0 as of yet.

   How to order:

Amiga UUCP/UseNet is available by sending a check or money order for $10
in US Funds and made payable to Sneakers Computing (address below).

In addition the entire package will be made available (after 01/01/89) for
downloading from the "BERKS AMIGA BBS" for free (only costs are any long
distance fees). But be warned, it consists of 2 files, 448022 & 414226 bytes
in size, and *BOTH* files are needed!

  Programs still needed:

  uusnap, uucpanz, uuclean.

  Future changes:

The ability to forward news articles to another site.
Additional pages for the man command.
   A Unix styled MAIL command.

  The bottom line(s):

This version is *NOT* compatible with older versions of Amiga UUCP/UseNet.
You must upgrade the entire system.
