I, as well as many (well some) others am looking to expand my A1000. One of the more promising SCSI interfaces I have seen advertised is the one from M.A.S.T. that uses the centronics port. It's even fairly cheap, $600 for 40M complete, formatted and ready to fly. So my question is, has anybody got one of these, or heard of somebody who does, or read a magazine review (I'll buy the mag, I just need a pointer)? Are there reservations or concerns about the parallel port for a disk interface, with a printer also on the port? Can it be as anywhere near as fast as SCSI on the bus expander using FFS? M.A.S.T. also has a memory box that uses 4x256(1M) RAM chips. As far as I can find this is the only box for the 1000 to do so. Since they require less power than 256K chips this looks like a 'good idea'. Any comments? Robert Williams robertw@hp-pcd.HP.COM 503-750-2818, Corvallis Workstation Operation
