[comp.sys.amiga] Pioneer Hard Drives

youngb@pur-ee.UUCP (H. Bret Young) (01/03/89)

I am thinking of either getting a hard drive for my A1000 or sell the A1000
and move to the A2000. Either way I want a hard drive. I was looking in a
magazine for hard drive prices and came across an ad for Pioneer Computing.
They have a 65Meg drive for $949.99 and a 44Meg *removable* media drive
for (if I remember correctly) $1000 (I know it wasn't more). The removable
media drive had an average access time of 2?ms (it was twenty someting).
These sound decent to me. And now the questions.

Can anybody give me information on Pioneer Computing and/or thier drives?

Are these decent prices? Can I do better elsewhere?

Can I use the FFS with a removable media hard drive?

What's the best deal I can get on A2000 with monitor and 2 floppies?

What can I get for my A1000, monitor, 2.5Meg RAM (expandable to 8.5Meg)?

I know this alot to ask but I haven't thought about this stuff for a long
time and am a bit out of touch with the market. (I got lots of money for
Christmas and am weighing my options).

					Thanks,
