[comp.sys.amiga] Keyboard replacement, custom chip, Bridgeboard questions

farhi@athena.mit.edu (Bill Hoston) (01/08/89)

Can anyone help me with the following questions:

	1) I have an Amiga B2000 purchased in August/September of 87.
My keyboard and mouse both have a horrible feel to them. CA
	never seems to
have any keyboards to sell as replacements (or so says my
dealer) so I seem to be stuck with a very squishy kybd. and an
unresponsive mouse. My question: Are there alternative
	devices from third party sources?

	2) Every now and then reference is made to the eventually to
be released new custom chips. What are the proposed
	features/enhancements as revealed by CA?

	3) I'm thinking of getting a ram expansion board. The flyer
for the CA 2058 board says

MEMORY SIZE Up to 8 MB (6 MB usable with Bridgeboard installed)

Should I take this to mean that the BB impares the Amiga (too
much power or something for both to operate ideally) or does
it mean something else ( the BB can address up to 6 MB of the
expansion ram as a virtual device)? Do the other 8 MB
expansion boards perform the same way ( whichever way that may
be)? Are there any other configurations where the presence of
a BB may cause diminished Amiga capabilities.

Sorry if these are repeats of oft asked questions. Please email
responses. Thanks.
