[] Chuck McManis asked if someone could name one company besides SubLogic that ever released a revision of a game program. I know of two. One is SSI. They have released at least one update of their Kampfgruppe game on the Amiga. (This one is certain, because I got the update directly from them. Of course, I had to call them to find out if they had one...) The second is Interstel. I've read in one of their mailouts that they have an update to their Star Fleet I game. (I don't have this update yet, since I lost interest in the game.) Although I was able to refute his contention that only SubLogic revises their games, I suspect that this is a rare occurrence. I would NOT expect that any game company will actually fix their broken software. I wish that these people were honest enough (no flames please, I am 'talking' about the publishers, NOT the programmers!) and financially able to fix some of their defective products, but I'm not naive enough to actually expect it. (No, I don't mean to imply that all publishers are broke and dishonest, so please don't flame me for that either.) By the way, the original version of Kampfgruppe was annoyingly buggy. The revised version that I have (v. 1.3) is much better. It still has a few annoying insects in it, but it is playable (and enjoyable.) Does anyone out there know if there's a newer, better version of this game available? I know that the author/porter of the Amiga version has been on the net at various times, is he reading this? Disclaimer: The above game names are probably copyrighted by the appropriate publishers and/or authors.
