[comp.sys.amiga] A1000/A500 expansion bus differences

scott@edson.UUCP (Scott Stephens) (01/10/89)

Could anyone tell me what the physical differences (as opposed to electrical)
are between the expansion bus on the A1000 and A500 are? I know that the A1000
bus is on the right side, and the A500 is on the left side. I also think that
on the A1000 pin 1 is on the top front, pin 2 on the bottom front, to pin 86
on the bottom back. The A500 also uses an 86 pin bus, but which pin is which?
What I really want to know is the procedure I have to go through to get an
expansion card for the A500 to work on the A1000. It CAN'T be as simple as
turning the card upside down, and plugging it into the A1000. Could you email
responses to me at the above address? Being a novice to posting, I don't know
whether you can or not. To re-iterate the address is (I believe)

This is the backbone. I hope you can figure it out from there.
