My Pict4 picture disk is ready. It consists entirely of the artwork of Louis Markoya. I received a disk from John Vig with these pictures on it. The disk is only 91% full this time, but I didn't want to spoil the disk with other things just to eat up a few percents of the disk. For those who don't remember, Mr. Markoya did the picture on the front of Issue 3 of Transactor for the Amiga. That picture, as well as others, are on this disk. Ordering information at the end of this posting. ------ Bob Page has indicated that he won't be posting large animations and such. Also, people seem to feel the net is not the right place for animations and pictures. Please -- if you have things you'd like to share with others, send it to me. You can send me a disk or you can just email it to me. If I like it (or maybe even if I don't), I'll see to it that it makes it onto one of my disks, complete with credit to you (for writing and/or sending it to me). I'm particularily interested in any neat screen stuff (like pictures, DPaint'ed or digitized or whatever, animations, or just general neat stuff like icons and pointers) and music. I particularily would like to receive some DMCS scores; their small size helps to fill out disks that are mostly, but not completely full. ------ Pict5 should be ready next week or so. It will consist of a slide show sent to me by (none other than) John Vig. Basically -- think of it as a series of nice artwork to look at. Some of the pictures you'll have seen before. Others were new (to me at least). Pict6 should be available soon after that. Tentatively, it'll be a "classics" disk consisting of things in my collection that are a little older (a year or two) that I feel every Amiga owner should have. This list includes the Juggler, Nemesis, El Gato, Marketroids, Boing (and various similar items), and other neat stuff. Of course, Pict6 won't contain all of these (Juggler takes up a good portion of one disk, I believe), but you get the general idea. ------ Order disks from me by sending $5 per disk or else a disk&SASE to: Joe Larson 6121 St. Croix Ave. N. Golden Valley, Mn 55422 If you send disks, try to find something to put on it for me. Right now, I'm encouraging people to send their $5, though. Everyone has been sending me disks lately, and I'm running out of some of the supplies I have to use, like labels, stamps (I have sent out mailings to people who have ordered disks in the past, telling them a new disk is ready), electricity, and cokes to drink while I copy disks. (And my wife's been on my back with the amount of time I spend copying disks and getting "nothing" out of it. She doesn't just doesn't understand....) You can pre-order disks. I guarantee I will put out Pict5 and 6 Real Soon Now. 7 and beyond are subject to finding more things to give you. I'd appreciate it if you don't use disks as "payment" for a pre-order; I don't want you to have to wait for the ones that are done and don't really want to have to keep the SASE and such around. Also -- if you send disks with material on them, indicate on the disk somehow who gave it to me. Sometimes I forget and don't know who to credit. This can be a note on the disk (somewhere I'm likely to find it, like /ReadMe) or else just on the label. Your initials may be all the visual trigger I need, but I found recently a disk that I think came from John Vig but I'm just plain not sure..... -- When you fall on your head do you land on your feet?
