Hello Amiga lovers! A local music store is searching for the 'right' computer and naturally I want them to carry the Amiga. Right now they are leaning toward the Atari ST (which does seem to have quite a bit of MIDI software available for it), but I want to convince them that the advantages of multi-tasking and desktop video make the amiga a better choice. While I have been doing MIDI on my A500 for some time now and can pretty well wade thru the various sequencers and editors, I am a little unclear as to what is available for 'budget' video kinds of stuff. So... my questions are: 1) I want to mix live video and computer graphics/animations. (Home made music videos of course!) I know that I need a genlock. The only 'cheap' one I have found is the AmiGen. (about $150) Anybody had any experience with this one ? 2) Are there any PD animation demos available that will 'wow' folks ? (They need to multi-task with a MIDI sequencer) 3) What commercial software should I get to draw images and do animations ? 4) And, (this should probably have been the first question) can I do this kind of thing (animations, MIDI and video; all at the same time) on a 1 meg A500 ? If not, how much memory is enough ? 5) Better yet, anybody got a list of the ideal 'budget' and 'pro' systems ? (H/W, S/W in 500 and 2000 flavors) Thanks in advance. Martin mfs@edison.GE.COM
