I recently purchased an expansion board for my A2000 to enhance the MS-DOS (Bridgeboard) side of the machine. My understanding is that this card is an AST 6 Pack + Clone with 128k of memory . After installing the board, I find that the clock, serial port, and parallel ports work just fine. Unfortunately, the 128k of additional memory is not functioning. The dealer tells me to take a bank of ram from the 512k already on the bridgeboard and add it to the existing 128k already on the expansion card. Thus, reconfiguring the system to allow for expansion memory recognition. Intuitively, this seems wrong and before I take my $2000+ investment in my 2000 & Bridgeboard into a gamble, I would like to hear what others think about this. Is this a standard mechanism for "expanding memory" on MS DOS machines or with Bridgeboards? I am told that the starting adress is indeed $80000 as described in the bridgeboard's measely document- ation. Moving chips from the motherboard to the expansion board, however, does not make much sense to me....does it to anyone else?
