[comp.sys.amiga] MaxiPlan Plus <-> Present/IT ?

acs@pccuts.pcc.amdahl.com (Tony Sumrall) (01/17/89)

I read in the latest AmigaWorld (NOTEPAD section under Computer Pow-Wow)
that Present/IT by B.E.S.T was MaxiPlan Plus -- it was described as "Old
friends in new guises...". Can anyone confirm or refute this?

Reply to me and I'll summarize if necessary.

Well, the name was different when we were told about it by the president of the
company, but yes. He called it Plan/It, and stated that it was Maxiplan, much
improved, by the same author, and will integrate nicely with BEST. When asked
about an ARexx port, he said they would look into it. He is not a software
type, and ARexx had to be explained to him in simplified terms.

He also said that Oxxi no longer markets it. This was at a Panorama meeting
late last year (probably Early December).

I thought I'd reply here, since the information came from the source.

As I just got MaxiPlan Plus for Christmas, this doesn't sound like very good
news to me. The last AmigaWorld I saw was January. That issue still mentioned
Maxiplan Plus as coming from Oxxi in the article "An Amiga Starter Kit". Does
anyone know what effect this change may have on warranties, upgrades, support,
etc.? Thanks for the info.

Cheers--

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
What is it with these OXXI folks? Are they total dweebs? I have two
(actually three) products that I bought from them and all three have
been trashed by the company. (Benchmark, MaxiPlan, Maxicomm) I hope
Marco fairs better with them. Why is it "remarketing" companies like
this always seem to be bozos? Argh, now it's off to get hold of
Intuitive Technologies to find out what the support situation will
be like, if any.

These opinions are my own and no one elses, but you knew that didn't you.
