(I'm new on the net, so if I screwed this up some how, send me a nasty letter. I'll enjoy reading it, I haven't gotten any mail before.) For a while now I've been contemplating running a BBS, but I don't want to just buy one off the shelf. I'm a progammer and I like to tinker, so I'ld like to have source. I don't really want to write one from scratch, that sounds like a lot of work. If there was one in the public domain that I could start with, that would make things a whole lot easier. Can anybody tell me whether such a beast exists, or am I just dreaming? I'ld like to run it in the background on my AMIGA 1000 for the time being, so C source would probably be the easiest for me to handle. But don't let that stop you from suggesting your favorite public domain BBS. I have several other compilers and if it isn't in one of those languages, I'm willing to try an' translate or maybe there's a public domain compiler available. I'ld even be willing to be a beta test site or co-developer, if someone else was so inclined.
