[comp.sys.amiga] Dr T software Copyist DTP especially

david@ms.uky.edu (David Herron -- One of the vertebrae) (01/30/89)

howdy ..

My mother is a serious composer and has bought an Amiga to help
with the drudge work of composing. (making scores & the like).
Right now she is using DMCS on an A500 with an NEC P2200 as the
output device, and is finding DMCS limiting. It's ok, but limiting,
like it's trying to do too many things and ending up not doing anything
really well.

So, she's been reading ads and such about the Dr T series of software
and is interested in that. And I told her I'd ask you guys if the
stuff had any blemishes. I'm sure there are some, every piece of
software has *some* blemishes. But considering the praise I've been
hearing about the series, the blemishes must be few and far between!

One thing which isn't clear is whether or not she'll be able to
use her P2200 with Copyist DTP. The ads say "postscript laser printer,
HP Laser Jet, or Epson FX". Does this mean that the Dr T people
ignored the Amiga printer drivers? They may very well have had a
good reason to ignore 'em ... but still ...
