[comp.sys.amiga] Pict5 is ready!

joe@dayton.UUCP (Joseph P. Larson) (01/30/89)

Pict5, my fifth disk of freely-redistributable good stuff, is all ready for
shipping. It's an example of a slideshow as given to me by John Vig. Some
of the slides will be familiar. Others were new (at least to me). Basically,
this disk will provide you with the ShowSEG program from Aegis as well as
a bunch of pictures. And John did a little script to display the pictures
on the disk.

The disk is *full*. I had to carefully reword part of the readme to make
room for "more" to fit on the disk. And I removed a couple of little files
on the disk that weren't necessary to get the general idea (aan extra script
and a note from John to a friend of his explaining something about his script).

Ordering info in a moment.

Future disks: Pict6 will be a classics disk. That is, stuff "everyone"
already has, but there are people who maybe don't. I won't be sending this
to people who order just "my next disk" or something unless they specifically
ask for it. (I did receive an order for my first 12 disks on Saturday. *That*
person's going to get the classics disk....)

Also, Marvin Landis sent me 4 disks full of animations. One anim is a 2-disk
set and will only go to those who order 2 or more disks at a time. Expect to
see those disks coming up.

Also, John Rydell, the editor of Amy Today magazine, sent me 3 disks. 2 of
them appear to be a set, as well.

Ordering info:

Order disks from me at:

Joe Larson
6121 St. Croix Ave N.
Golden Valley, Minnesota 55422

Please do not use the address in my .signature -- I just have to bring them
home and it will take an extra few days for you to get your disk. (Company
mail is slow.)

Disks are $5 each. Alternatively, you can send me a disk and SASE. If you
send disks, I encourage you to find something to put on them, even if it's
not something I'll distribute (like a Fish disk. I wouldn't mind those).
I received a disk last week that came damaged, so make sure you ask the
postal service to "Hand Stamp - Computer Disks". It wouldn't hurt if you'd
use padded mailers or something. I buy mine from St. Paul Book & Stationery
for around 20 cents a piece. I'm also going to follow up on a tip John
Rydell gave me, so I'll let you know how that goes...
