There could be a number of hazards from VDTs, but one that I have noticed is ozone. They turn the ventilation off here at night, and the ozone gets dense enough that you can smell it. But really this is just one of many problems of indoor environments, both office and home. A lot of research is needed on the entire question of indoor environmental hazards, and not just VDTs. They are after all no different than television, except that you are closer to them. I doubt much will be done as long as the current administration is in Washington however.
