Did any of you net denizens happen to watch the Jan. 31st edition of Nova on PBS? The show was about chaotic systems. If you watched, then you must have noticed that Andy Garfinkel's chaos models of heart arhythmias were done on an Amiga 2000. Alas, the Amiga wasn't mentioned by name, though a wall of VMS manuals was lurking in the background. Don't feel too bad; in a different scene the name "Tektronix" was also taped-over while they were displaying a leach neuron waveform on a Tek oscilloscope. They forgot to cover up "A R Vetter" on the tape recorder in the background, however. Non-commercialization policies... sigh. The syndicated "The Computer Show" that comes from San Diego also does inserts between takes that are done on an Amiga 2000. Last week they showed the Apple "pencil" video at the end of the show. I got a laugh when they chroma-keyed the show credits on the Mac screen at the end of the show. The last thing you saw was "graphics: Amiga 2000" which gave the impression the pencil video had been done on an Amiga, had one not been paying attention. :-) --Bill wtm@impulse.UUCP ...!lll-winken!scooter!neoucom!impulse!wtm
