[comp.sys.amiga] sick paula?

C506634@umcvmb.missouri.edu (Eric Edwards) (01/28/89)

Some time ago my a500's power supply died in the middle of a long download. To
day I got my replacemnet only to find that now the serial port doesn't work.
I've tested the modem on a PC and it's fine. My terminal programs can't find
a carrier and there doesn't seem to be much of any communication between the co
mputer and the modem. I've also noticed an unusual amount of noise when I run
some demos with sound. 'Sort of how it might sound if the low pass filter were
disabled. Since both the serial port and the sound are done by paula that wou
ld seem a likely culpret.

My question is: Has anyone else had this problem? Am I correct in pointing my
fingre at Paula? If so, does anyone know of a good (cheep) place to get
       a new paula chip?
                     <<<<Thanx>>>>

I sent into amiga-relay about a week ago. IT has never shown up here, though.
So I asume something ate it along the way. It got somewhere because I got one
reply but I'm 100% sure it didn't get everywhere. So... Here it is again
