I have not posted to the NET in a while, so I have accumulated a number of questions. ******PLEASE NOTE THAT I POSTED THIS TO BOTH COMP.SYS.AMIGA.TECH AND COMP.SYS.AMIGA LAST WEEK BUT I DON'T THINK IT REACHED COMP.SYS.AMIGA******* First, what is Mathematica?? I am in the market for a raw data plotting program which will plot (x,y) data and (x,y,z) data in 3-D surface plots as well as 2-D contour plots, much like Grapher and Surfer for the I*M personal computers so prevalent in our chemistry laboratory here at UF. If Mathematica won't do the job or is too expensive, does anyone have suggestions as to what commercial packages are available to do this type of data plotting and manipulation? I have looked at the 2-D and 3-D plotting programs on the FF disks and they are not adequate. Also, I would like to spend < $150.00 on the package (a major investment for a POOR GRADUATE STUDENT). Second, I have read a lot on the NET about the 1084 and 1084S monitors for the AMY. I have a 2002 monitor. Could someone at CATS or anywhere else tell me what the differences between these monitors are? Also, I have obtained a CMI RF modulator that has separate CHROMA and LUMA connectors. I have noticed that my 2002 also has separate CHROMA and LUMA inputs, but the manual states that these are only to be used in conjunction with a C-64. Could anyone elaborate? Can someone give me a detailed description of how I would use the CMI, my 2002, my AMY 2000, and a VCR to get the best results for recording the many ANIMS that are available (as well as my own) onto 1/2" video tape? I really need this info in a hurry as I am working on a commercial for a local bookstore using Turbo SILVER 3.0 and I am on a deadline. Finally, what is all this fuss over Multisync monitors? Why are they all the rage? Is the picture better? Do they eliminate INTERLACE flicker? Can you display OVERSCAN and SEVERE OVERSCAN (704x440 and 768x480 NTSC respectively) since they supposedly have 800x600 resolution? I would appreciate any help.
