I haven't seen anyone mention this, so I guess I will... A couple of months ago Commodore switched to a different manufacturer for the 1084S monitor. The old one looked like a Magnavox, and was generally considered a piece of garbage. The new one, however, is quite a lot different, and looks like the style of the old Amiga monitors (with the funny curved door at the bottom). The display between the new and the old is like night and day. The new one gives a completely black background, with brilliant colors. The other one, well, uh... didn't. So if you're planning on buying a monitor, don't be put off by bad 1084S reviews -- you're probably reading reviews of the "old" model -- and make sure you're getting the latest version when you order.
