Well the Halfbrite Hill demo I have crashes under 1.3, but before it does so it shows the background, but no ghost- hence no halfbrite chip in my 1000. My question is, will new software be manufactured that NEEDS this chip? Will the software circumvent the missing chips in the old 1000's? Are these chips standard in the A500 and 2000? Finally, how difficult/necessary is it to add this chip? Is it at all possible? Thanks -GEA

It's not difficult to add the chip at all. I did it to my 1000 in about
10 minutes. You just pull out the old Denise and put in the new one and
then check it before replacing all the screws, etc. Just make sure you
point it in the right direction.
The hard part is getting your hands on the chip. I was fortunate to get
one through the Los Gatos RP -> Badge fallout. If you don't know what
that means, never mind, just Commodore politics ... Perhaps someone here
knows if there are any more available. I'm thrilled to have mine. I use
64 'colors' in hi-res, almost like HAM, but easier.
