That is, we'll provide the new dual serial port board for a price of $220 including shipping (in the u.s.) to all persons who order between now and the start of shipping (the third week of April). After that, the board will be available through your local dealer. Subject: PD and Shareware Software On Our Disk... At this point we have firm plans to provide a new multiport version of WHAP, the Compuserve reader. We will also provide ``termx'' which is a relatively unknown comm program which happens to have the fastest file transfer capability that we've ever tested (over 48KBaud throughput on a 56KB line). We encourage the authors of other PD and Shareware comm programs to put in the multiserial capability in their programs. This amounts to no more than providing a way for the user to specify a device and unit number to your OpenDevice call. Our goal in putting such software on our disk is to provide applications which the consumer can use when he/she takes our equipment home. It is NOT our intent to discourage the purchase of commercial comm software or to endorse the use of any particular package over another. -- Perry Kivolowitz, ASDG Inc.
