[comp.sys.amiga] AmigaDOS error 212

armhold@topaz.rutgers.edu (George Armhold) (02/22/89)

Could someone please inform me what AmigaDOS error 212 means? I sent a
PD disk to France via airmail and the recipient says that the disk won't load.
My manuals don't say anything about error 212 and neither of us have
the AmigaDOS manual. Is there something I can do to remedy this
problem? Also, for those in the know: what kinds of disk-damaging
equipment do mail carriers use? What is the proper way to send a disk
over-seas and not have it magnetically damaged? Thanks,
-GEA

George Armhold asks what AmigaDOS error 212 represents. According to my
1.2 Manual, Error 212 is:

	'Object not of required type'

The example given is feeding a directory to the TYPE command instead of a
a file. AmigaDOS doesn't allow you to display a directory, only files.

Hope this helps, George.
