I now have an A1020 external 5.25 drive and have purchased Dos-2-Dos so I
can read/write MS-DOS floppies. Now I am looking for software that will
allow me to read/write CP/M floppies. Is there a PD or commercial program
that allows the Amiga to read/write various flavors of CP/M disks?
My other computer is a DEC VT180, also known as a "Robin". The disks are
single sided, double density, 9 sectors per track, with 169K of space for
data. It has the following hex numbers in the DPB (Disk Parameter Block):
SPT: 0024 = 36 records per track (9 sectors of 512 bytes each)
BSH: 03 = block shift (for 8 records of 128 bytes per 1K block)
BLM: 07 = block mask (for 8 records per block)
EXM: 00 = extent mask (for 1024 byte blocks)
DSM: 00AA = maximum block number = 170 (180K - 9K on 2 reserved tracks)
DRM: 003F = directory maximum = 64 entries (which take up 2K)
ALU: C000 = allocation in directory for directory itself (128+64,0)
CKS: 0010 = size of checksum vector = 16 entries
OFF: 0002 = offset due to reserved tracks
XLT: 00,01,02,03 08,09,10,11 16,17,18,19 (physical sectors inteleaved
24,25,26,27 32,33,34,35 04,05,06,07 5 to 1 with 4 logical records
12,13,14,15 20,21,22,23 28,29,30,31 per physical sector)
If I had the sources to the MSDOS program on Fish Dish #158 I could do it
myself. But rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm asking of anyone else
has a CP/M transfer program. Thanks.
