I snatched the PcPatch from swan.ulowell.edu (ftp), compiled it with Lattice 4.01, and it worked great. I just finished copying 'downloading?' a very large backlog of amiga stuff, and it worked without any problem. I used the 360k format on the 3.5" disks. A bit of a waste, but it's much better than spending $55.00 for Dos-to-Dos... (besides, we already knew that IBMs were wasteful ;-) I'll be happy to provide the uuencoded executeables to the needy... I've been having problems with Pcpatch and the pccopy/pcformat utilities. On the msdos machine I formated (360K) a double sided/density disk and copied a bunch of files there. When I use pcpatch to read the disk it seems to get the first 3K or so and then reads a bunch of garbage. I also tried using pcformat with the patch and it fails claiming the 3.5in disk cannot be formatted. I suspect that I should be using a different density disk but if so which one? Also, I tried DOStoDOS with 2 different msdos disks and it failed at about the same place as pcpatch did. Any suggestions? Thanx Ric Carreras ARPA: carreras@lees.mit.edu bix: carreras

However, the only way I've ever gotten it to work was by formatting the DOS disk on the Amiga. When I tried to use disks formatted on the MessyDos machine, PCcopy would grind and grind but find no files. The MessyDos machine appears to have no problems reading the Amiga formatted disks though. This is on a PS/2-80, Dos 3.3. Tim Costello ...udel!eplrx7!costello Oh yeah, I've never tried Dos-2-Dos, the need is not that great. --
